Flea's Playoff Update, Vol. IV
May 9, 2008
these nba playoffs are great
i could sit and watch every game and be happy as a clean ocean water
clam
for some ridiculous reason i have a life that precludes me from doing
all of that
darn it! i have a career and a family! rats!
i cant sit and watch t.v for 5 hours every day!!!!
something to be considered.......
when i was at the game the other night
and the staples center was really going off
kobe was presented with his trophy, great fun and at the same time a
very poignant moment
and the game kicked into gear
and the crowd was just going out of their collective mind
it was so clear how a fan rooting for his team
really has as effect on the outcome of the game
how the energy of the game is influenced by the sincerity and passion
of the fandom
that the quality of the rooting produces varying degrees of energy
that corresponds to varying degrees of influence on the energy of the
game
now, perhaps i am trying to rationalize my own fanatic insanity
but, that is pretty cool
when 20 thousand people at a game are altogether cheering the guts
out for the home team at a game it the most blatant and easy to see
example of this
but, i believe that, a person sitting at home by themselves in front
of a t.v., even halfway around the world, they influence the outcome
as well
it is like prayer, or meditation, or any energetic motion.....it works!
it is not just a physical act, energy moves at much higher speeds
than our body or voices can....
it is great!!!!
hahahaha!!!!!
i am still feeling jolts of electricity shooting all through my blood
stream
and my liver is doing a merry jig with my kidneys and my heart is
doing the watusi with my soul after being at the lakers jazz game 2....
that was the funnest and most exciting game i have ever witnessed at
the staples center
and that includes all the basketball games i have ever seen there
including championship victories.....
the love for the team and the love the team puts out now is on a
another level of jubilant excitement
i loved the lakers winning the championships with shak
and i am grateful for them
but this is just way more fun
the team flows in a beautiful way
and they are intense
now, i am not saying it is more exciting than, the magic johnson,
james worthy, kareem abdul jabaar, lakers of the '80s
that is another story
but, it is, without a doubt, the most exciting since then
this laker team is playing unbelievably good ball
smart basketball
intense basketball
team basketball
and they have the potential
with the return of bynum and ariza
barring injuries
to be on the of the greatest teams of all time
lamar is just shockingly good
a 6'11 guy like that driving the lane and spinning and swiveling,
double pumping and soft touching it into the hoop
genius!!!!
fish just knocking em down
the way the lakers played in the first quarter was some of the best
basketball i have ever seen
and kobe bryant, the best basketball player on earth.......
anyone who is still a kobe critic
a 'hater'
has marginalized themselves into nothingness, certified that they are
a basketball ignoramus
they are a wisp of a dandelion top, blowing to and fro, at the mercy
of the mighty force of nature that is kobe bryant
god bless them, may they find the way
the guy is great on every level
and he is relaxed and having fun too
that is what is pleasing me so much right now
i have never seen or heard the guy so relaxed and having fun and
being so at ease in the media spotlight
i have been a hardcore kobe supporter all his career
he is the best
but now, for the first time, it is great to see him enjoy it
to see him grow, most obviously this season, is awesome
not just with his leadership and bringing all his teamates up so much
but him growing as public entity
the guy is funny!
and honest
and the best
